Cost is one of the most frequent questions we receive about fungal nail and verruca treatment, and it is also one of the most common reasons people put off booking. People want to know what they are committing to before they pick up the phone, and that is entirely reasonable.
This article covers what the treatment involves, why pricing varies, and what to expect in terms of cost at We Fix Feet. Full, up-to-date pricing is available on our pricing page, and all costs are confirmed and discussed at your initial assessment before any treatment begins.
Laser fungal nail treatment: what affects the cost
There is no single fixed price for a fungal nail treatment course, because every patient’s situation is different. The factors that influence the overall cost are:
Number of nails affected
Treating one nail is a different undertaking to treating six. An initial assessment establishes how many nails are actually infected, which is often more than a person has noticed, because early-stage infection in adjacent nails may not yet be visually obvious. Understanding the full picture upfront means the treatment plan is accurate from the start, rather than being revised partway through.
Stage of the infection
An early infection affecting only part of one nail requires fewer sessions and a shorter treatment course than an established infection that has progressed across the full nail bed. The cost reflects the work the treatment needs to do, which is why earlier treatment is both quicker and, typically, less expensive overall.
Number of sessions included in the treatment plan
Laser fungal nail treatment at We Fix Feet is structured as a programme rather than individual sessions. Most patients require between three and four sessions for an established infection, with sessions scheduled a few weeks apart to allow the nail to begin responding. The programme approach means you have a defined plan and a clear expectation from the start.
We have a full breakdown of our laser fungal nail treatment costs in our Knowledge Centre cost guide, which covers what each session involves and how the programme is structured.
K-laser verruca treatment: what affects the cost
Number of verrucas
A single small verruca is a different treatment undertaking to multiple lesions across one or both feet. One of the practical advantages of K-laser verruca treatment is that multiple lesions can be treated in a single session, so the number of sessions required may not increase proportionally with the number of verrucas. The assessment will establish what is there and how best to structure the treatment plan.
Size and depth of the lesion
A small, recently acquired verruca sits close to the skin surface and may require fewer sessions than a large, long-standing verruca with a significant depth. Verrucas that have been present for a year or more, or that have a substantial callus build-up, typically require more treatment sessions.
Whether a consultation is required separately
At We Fix Feet, an initial assessment is the first step. The assessment confirms the diagnosis, distinguishing a verruca from a corn, or a fungal nail from trauma-related discolouration and outlines a clear treatment plan. The cost of the initial assessment is confirmed when you book, and treatment costs are discussed at that appointment before anything begins.
How our approach compares with alternatives
Pharmacy home treatments
Over-the-counter products for both fungal nails and verrucas have a low upfront cost per item but often require months of daily use. For fungal nails, penetration of the nail plate is the core limitation, and many people use multiple courses of pharmacy treatment over a year or more without sustained improvement. For verrucas, salicylic acid kits work on the surface layer and may not reach the viral source, leading to incomplete clearance or return.
The cumulative cost of repeated pharmacy treatment over twelve to eighteen months, combined with the time spent on daily application and the frustration of limited results, is worth considering when comparing it to a defined course of professional treatment with a clear timeline.
Other professional treatments in the UK
For laser fungal nail treatment, private clinics across the UK typically charge between £60 and £180 per session depending on location and technology. We Fix Feet uses K-laser technology at both our Beeston and Ilkeston clinics. Our costs are discussed transparently at your assessment.
For verruca treatment, options range from cryotherapy (freezing, typically available at some GP surgeries and private clinics) to needling, acid-based treatments and laser. K-laser treatment has the advantage of treating multiple lesions in a single session and of targeting the viral tissue directly rather than primarily removing the overlying callus.
What the cost does not include and why that matters
Hidden costs in any treatment context are frustrating, and we try to avoid them. When you attend your initial assessment at We Fix Feet, you will be told:
- What we have found and what our diagnosis is
- What we recommend and why
- What the full treatment plan involves: number of sessions, frequency, and what to do between sessions
- What the cost is
You will not be asked to commit to anything without understanding what it involves and what it costs. If you would prefer to go away and think before proceeding, that is completely fine.
Is treatment worth the cost?
This is a question only you can fully answer, but there are a few things worth weighing.
An untreated fungal nail infection does not resolve on its own. It typically progresses from one nail to adjacent nails, from mild to significant thickening, from a manageable early infection to something that takes substantially longer to address. The cost of treating an established infection with multiple nails affected is higher than the cost of treating a single early infection. Waiting does not make treatment cheaper; it generally makes it more extensive.
With verrucas, pain during walking and sport is a quality-of-life issue. A single course of effective treatment that resolves a verruca that has been present for two years is straightforward to value against the ongoing daily discomfort and the cost and time of continuing with treatments that have not worked.
For people who are genuinely uncertain whether the cost is justified for their specific situation, a consultation gives you the information to make that decision clearly rather than guessing based on general information.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is laser fungal nail treatment available on the NHS? No. Laser fungal nail treatment is a private treatment and is not available via NHS referral. It is available at our Beeston and Ilkeston clinics on a private basis.
Does private health insurance cover laser fungal nail or verruca treatment? This varies by insurer and policy. It is worth contacting your insurer directly to confirm your cover before treatment. We can provide any documentation your insurer requires.
Can I pay for treatment in instalments? Payment plan options are available at We Fix Feet. This is something to discuss at your assessment or when booking.
What if I need more sessions than the original plan included? If additional sessions are needed beyond the initial plan, which does sometimes happen with more established infections, we discuss this with you clearly before any additional cost is incurred. There are no surprises.
How do the costs at We Fix Feet compare with GP treatment? GPs typically do not provide laser treatment for fungal nails or K-laser treatment for verrucas. They may prescribe oral antifungal medication for nail infections, or refer for cryotherapy for verrucas. These are different treatments with different mechanisms, timelines and side-effect profiles. A podiatrist can help you compare options based on your specific situation.
