Darren Bloore

HCPC Registered Podiatrist and Co-Founder

Darren Bloore helps active professionals and families across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire overcome persistent foot pain through honest, education-first podiatry that gets them back to their goals – whether that’s running a 10K or simply walking to the shops pain-free.—

About Darren Bloore

Darren Bloore serves as Co-founder and Senior Podiatrist at WeFixFeet, our specialist foot healthcare clinic with locations in Ilkeston and Beeston. He leads clinical care for patients across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, focusing on verrucae, ingrown toenails, and fungal nail infections using cutting-edge treatments like Swift Microwave therapy and Class IV laser.

With approximately eight years building WeFixFeet from the ground up, Darren has treated thousands of patients across our two busy clinics. His work spans everything from routine nail care for elderly patients to complex sports injury rehabilitation for runners and footballers.

Darren takes a refreshingly direct approach: laser therapy “is not an instant fix” and often requires multiple sessions, and the NHS typically doesn’t cover it. This commitment to honest expectations reflects our philosophy at WeFixFeet – we believe patient education matters more than empty promises.

Outside clinical work, Darren is most proud of empowering the next generation of practitioners. He supported team member Jess’s journey from front-desk apprentice to qualified clinician.

When he’s not treating feet, you’ll find him with Rolo, his miniature chocolate and tan dachshund who serves as WeFixFeet’s “Chief Happiness Officer” – visiting the clinic to calm nervous patients with his mischievous charm.

Darren also escapes to Crete and the Greek islands whenever possible, drawn to the rugged mountain villages and their warm hospitality as much as the crystal-clear Aegean waters.

More About Darren Bloore

Darren’s journey into podiatry began with a bold decision in his 50s. After years as a facilities manager, he wanted “to do something more people-focused.” He returned to university to train as a podiatrist while simultaneously co-running WeFixFeet.

Co-founding WeFixFeet in late 2016 with business partner Steve, Darren initially focused on operations and business development. We started seeing patients in 2017. What began as a single-clinic operation has grown into an award-winning centre of excellence spanning two locations.

That journey wasn’t easy. “Going back to university in my 50s wasn’t easy,” Darren has said publicly. “But the team here made it possible.” He graduated with First-Class Honours from University of Huddersfield in 2024, achieving top academic distinction while running a growing business.

Our two locations – Ilkeston (Derbyshire) and Beeston (Nottinghamshire) – serve a broad patient base. From runners with Achilles problems to elderly patients needing routine nail care. Our small team of 5-8 practitioners means Darren personally treats a significant share of patients.

In 2025, WeFixFeet opened a new state-of-the-art Beeston facility. The expanded clinic features seven treatment rooms and a rehabilitation gym. It represents the scale of ambition Darren and Steve brought to foot healthcare in the East Midlands.

Our clinic’s four major awards reflect that commitment:

  • Foot & Ankle Clinic of the Year (Midlands), 2021 – awarded by Global Health & Pharma
  • Best Foot Health Care Provider–East Midlands, 2021 – SME Midlands Enterprise Awards
  • Health, Beauty & Wellness Awards winner, 2022 – LUXlife Magazine
  • Community Support Excellence Award, 2021 – special recognition from GHP for community initiatives

Darren’s specialisms centre on persistent problems: verrucae that won’t shift, ingrown toenails causing daily pain, and fungal infections returning despite treatment. He introduced Swift Microwave therapy for verrucae and Class IV laser for fungal nails to WeFixFeet. These innovative treatments tackle problems that over-the-counter remedies often can’t.

His transparent communication style shows up in patient education. In a blog article on fungal nails, Darren noted that laser therapy has a 63-82% success rate in studies. He also acknowledged it “may require multiple sessions for best results” and that “the NHS does not typically cover laser therapy.”

That honesty extends to patient compliance. He openly addresses why fungal infections recur: patients stop treatment too early. It’s an “uncomfortable truth” that helps more patients achieve their goals than sugar-coating ever would.

Professional development matters deeply to Darren. His memberships in The Royal College of Podiatry and British Medical Laser Association provide access to continued learning. He regularly attends podiatric seminars and workshops on advanced treatment modalities.

The local news coverage in NottinghamWorld highlighted Darren’s story alongside team member Jess Bradshaw. Jess joined WeFixFeet as a front-desk apprentice. With Darren’s mentorship, she qualified as a foot health practitioner. The article captured it perfectly: “Jess and Darren are proof that with the right support, career transformation is possible at any stage.”

Darren’s patient-centric approach centres on empowerment: “Every day, I strive to empower individuals to take control of their foot health through education and personalised care,” he has said. “Whether resolving a painful ingrown toenail or treating a stubborn verruca, our aim is to get you back to your goals and help you move freely, live vibrantly.”

The personal side:

  • Favourite Movies:  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Whisky Galore and The Immitation Game.
  • Music:  Queen, Beethoven, …and most things 80’s pop!
  • Food:  rustic Cretan local village foods, fine dining and Beans on Toast – quality and taste over quantity!
  • Helping others achieve their goals and dreams!  I’m always looking to reflect and grow and never afraid to ask “Why”.

What’s clear is that Darren chose this career for the right reasons. “I’m proud to now give back through clinical care,” he told NottinghamWorld. “And help others achieve their personal best too.”
