More About Steve Carter

Steve and co-founder Darren Bloore built WeFixFeet from their hometown clinic in Ilkeston starting in 2004. What began as a single-practitioner foot clinic has grown into an award-winning team of seven serving the East Midlands with 35+ years of collective experience.

Our patient base spans everyone from young athletes needing sports injury rehabilitation to older adults requiring routine foot care. From nervous first-timers to seasoned sportspeople, WeFixFeet’s patient-centric approach makes everyone feel at ease.

WeFixFeet operates from two locations – the original Ilkeston clinic in Derbyshire and a second site in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. Both clinics are equipped with cutting-edge treatment technology including Swift Microwave Therapy, Class IV Laser, and facilities for custom 3D-printed orthotic design.

The record-breaking year:  Under Steve’s co-leadership, WeFixFeet achieved its highest-ever customer numbers, turnover, and profit in 2024. This growth led to the Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 recognition from Entrepreneurs Circle, celebrating their business acumen alongside clinical expertise.

Military to medicine transition:  Steve’s journey into healthcare followed his time as a military professional. That background gave him a disciplined, systematic approach to patient care.

We understand the importance of precision and commitment – qualities that now serve our patients every day. His commitment to serving the community continues through WeFixFeet’s signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, supporting veterans and their families.

The innovation focus:  Steve’s practice emphasises non-surgical, tailored solutions. His Extended Scope Practitioner role bridges podiatry and physiotherapy, offering innovative treatments like Shockwave Therapy, Class IV Laser, custom 3D-printed orthotics, and a comprehensive package of care programmes – technology and methods that position WeFixFeet as a regional centre of excellence.

Patient experience philosophy:  Steve’s core belief – “It all begins and ends with the customer experience” – shapes every clinical decision.

Rather than chasing sales targets, the clinic focuses on getting you back to your goals. If you need surgical intervention beyond WeFixFeet’s scope, we’ll refer you to appropriate specialists. We believe in providing effective solutions and clear treatment paths.

The transparency commitment:  The clinic openly advises patients on insurance coverage requirements, recommending they “ensure you book with a clinician who meets your scheme’s terms and conditions.”

This proactive honesty helps you avoid surprises and demonstrates our integrity-first approach. We understand that trust is earned through transparency.

His mission statement:  “My mission is to empower individuals to return to your most-loved activities… our goal at WeFixFeet is to treat, move, improve.” This purpose – helping people move freely, live vibrantly – drives Steve’s work every day. Our aim is to reduce pain, increase mobility, and regain confidence in your recovery journey.

The community recognition:  Beyond clinical awards, WeFixFeet earned a Community Support Excellence Award in 2021 from GHP. This recognised the team’s commitment to community and charitable values, particularly support for military veterans and patient education programmes. We genuinely care about our patients’ well-being and are focused on helping them achieve their goals.
